Is the star name official? Will astronomers use it?＋
No — and no company can truthfully promise that. Only the International Astronomical Union (IAU) officially names stars, and they don't sell names. Every star-naming service, including ours, is symbolic. The difference is we say it plainly: you're giving a beautiful, permanent, symbolic dedication tied to a real star — not an official scientific designation.
Is the star itself real?＋
Yes. Catalog and Registry packages link your name to a real star from the HYG astronomical catalog, with genuine coordinates (right ascension and declination), magnitude, constellation, and actual measured distance in light-years. You can find it in the sky — our app will literally point you to it.
What exactly do I get?＋
A print-ready PDF certificate with the star's name and real coordinates, an interactive 3D star page you can revisit and share, access to the Lumora app (AR star finder), optional cinematic gift reveal, and — on Registry tier — a permanent public registry page. Add-ons include a framed print and luxury gift box.
How fast will I receive it?＋
Instantly. Your certificate and star page are ready minutes after payment — perfect for last-minute gifts. Physical add-ons (framed print, gift box) ship separately.
Is the app included? What about iPhone?＋
Yes — app access is included free with every package. It guides you to your star in the real night sky using your phone's camera and compass, sends 'your star is overhead tonight' notifications, and shows what else is in your sky. The Android app is rolling out now; the iOS app is coming soon. We'll email you the download link the moment it's live for your device.
Can I gift it to someone else?＋
That's the whole point! Mark it as a gift, add their email, and schedule a reveal date — they'll receive a cinematic unwrapping of their star at the exact moment you choose (midnight on their birthday works wonders).
Can two people share a star — or a family?＋
Yes. Twin Stars links two stars together for couples, and Constellation groups 3–7 stars into your own named constellation — lovely for families and memorials.
What's your refund policy?＋
If something's wrong with your order, contact us and we'll make it right. Full details are in our refund policy — we keep it fair and human.
Why are you cheaper than other star registries?＋
Because we don't spend money pretending to be official. Our costs are honest software costs — so a real-star dedication starts at ₹499 where competitors charge ₹1,800+ for the same symbolic thing wrapped in fancier claims.
Can someone else 'buy' my star later?＋
No. Once a catalog star is dedicated through Lumora, it's marked as taken in our system and can't be dedicated again by anyone else.
